César Augusto Marques da Silva

César Marques is a sociologist with a PhD in Demography from UNICAMP and a postdoctoral fellowship in Demography from the University of Vienna. He is a professor and researcher at the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE/IBGE), where he served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Population, Territory, and Public Statistics from 2016 to 2020. He is currently the Deputy General Coordinator at ENCE. At the Brazilian Association of Population Studies (ABEP), he was the coordinator of the Working Group on Population, Space, and Environment and a board member from 2019 to 2022. He was a member of the Population-Environment Research Network Scientific Committee from 2019 to 2023. He holds a Research Productivity Fellowship from CNPq and his main fields of research are population projections and the interactions among population and environment, with a focus on climate change, vulnerability, and adaptation.
